PURPOSE: An engine starting system is provided to lengthen the life span and to reduce noise. CONSTITUTION: An engine starting system has a motor(1), an output shaft(8), and a clutch part(23). The motor has a motor body(28) and a rotatable motor shaft(2) extended from the motor body. The output shaft has an outer part(14) arranged around the motor shaft. The output shaft is mounted to the front end(7) of the motor shaft coaxially with the motor in a freely rotating state. The output shaft transmits the rotation of the motor shaft to an engine. The clutch part is arranged between the motor shaft and the outer part. The clutch part transmits the rotation of the motor shaft to the output shaft, with the same rotational frequency.
