PURPOSE: An electric connector to which a shield case is attached is provided to insert a plug connector into the connector while watching an indicating part of the plug connector and easily automatically combine the connector with a device. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector(10) has a metal shield case(13) having a direction of fitting a plug connector into the electric connector as an axial line. The metal shield case surrounds and supports a housing(12) of the connector. The shield case has a connecting part(28) connected to a corresponding circuit part of a circuit board. The connecting part is placed on the bottom face of the shield case, which faces the circuit board. The shield case further includes an elastic lock piece(20) catching the plug connector and a shield piece coming into contact with the shield case of the plug connector.
