Software registration code management system and method on the network

PURPOSE: A system and a method for managing a registration number of a software package distributed on the network are provided to make a CP(Contents Provider) simplify an issuing procedure by transmitting a filename including the registration number generated in a download time, and make a user not store the issued registration number in a file or a memo. CONSTITUTION: A present transmission history is searched from a download history database(100) by referring a software package name requesting the download and the user information(31). In case that the present history is not present, a new registration number is generated, and is stored in a history information database together with the software package name and the user information(33). In the case that the present history is present, the registration number is read. The new registration number or the registration number read from the history database is added to a portion of the requested file name(34). The download is permitted(35) and the software package is transmitted to the user.
