PURPOSE: Provided is a star type multifunctional discotic liquid crystal having an excellent electron transportability, a blue light emitting property, and various liquid crystal phases. CONSTITUTION: The discotic liquid crystal comprises a discotic liquid crystal material comprising a compound represented by the formula 1, wherein n is 0 or 1, R1 is -(CH2)xCH3, R2 is H or -(CH2)xCH3, X is an integer of 5-21. The compound represented by the formula 1 is 1,3,5-tris(2-(4-hexyloxyphenyl)-oxadiazole-5-il)benzene, 1,3,5-tris(2-(4-dodecyloxyphenyl)-oxadiazole-5-il)benzene, 1,3,5-tris(2-(3,4,5-tris-dodecyloxyphenyl)-oxadiazole-5-il)benzene, 1,3,5-tris(2-(4-hexyloxyphenyl)-oxadiazole-5-il-ethynyl)benzene, and etc.
