PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for minimizing a PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) in a communication system using an OFDM method are provided to minimize the PAPR by transmitting a dummy sequence instead of a transmitting signal when the PAPR of a transmitting signal excesses a threshold value. CONSTITUTION: A sub-band divider(119) is used for dividing information data sub carrier signals into sub-band signals.
