PURPOSE: A fishing rod, which changes its whole length between a main rod and an extension rod so that a fish is easily taken in, is provided to change the whole length of itself between the main and the extension rod, and to enable a fisherman to angle according to the situations by changing the whole length before angling. CONSTITUTION: The fishing rod is so configured that plural cylinder-shaped poles are sequentially connected with each other and includes: a main pole(1); an extension pole(2), arranged on the basic end side of the main pole(1) so as to be inserted into and drawn out from the main pole(1); and a main upper pole(3), arranged on the water plane side of the main pole(1) so as to be contained inside the mail pole(1) and the extension pole(2). The extension pole(2) and the main upper pole(3) are fixed into the main pole(1) in both states that they are contained respectively into the main pole(1) or drawn out from the latter(1) towards the basic end side thereof or the water plane side. The main pole(1) is a cylindrical body, tapered towards the front end of its own whole length.
