LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION HAVING HIGH-SPEED AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Provided is a liquid crystal composition, which has decreased rotational viscosity and increased coefficient of elasticity, and thereby realizing high brightness and high-speed response. Further, a liquid crystal display using the liquid crystal composition is provided. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises a nematic liquid crystal compounds represented by formulas 1, 2 and 3, wherein each R is independently or simultaneously CnH2n+1 or CnH2n-1(in which n is an integer of 1-7); X is a halogen atom or a hydrogen atom; each of L1 and L2 is independently or simultaneously cyclohexane or benzene; each of cyclic A and B is independently or simultaneously cyclohexane, benzene or dioxane; Y is F, CF3, OCF3, CH=CF2, OCH=CF2, CnH2n+1 or CnH2n-1(in which, n is an integer of 1-7); and each of S1, S2 and S3 is independently or simultaneously F, CF3, OCF3 or H. The liquid crystal display comprises the above nematic liquid crystal composition and is a twist nematic mode LCD, or an in-plane switching or optically compensated bend mode LCD.
