PROVISIONING SYSTEM FOR PERFORMING PROVISIONING THROUGH TRAFFIC CHANNEL IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A provisioning system for performing provisioning through a traffic channel in a mobile communication system and a method therefor are provided to prevent an un-provision MS(Mobile Station) from being connected to an Internet protocol data network without authorization through a data call to a base station. CONSTITUTION: A BS(Base Station) senses a connection attempt by an MS(505). In order to determine whether the MS has been provisioned in a wireless network, the BS receives authentication data from the MS and is connected to subscriber data related to the MS stored in an HLR by using received authentication data(510). If the BS cannot authenticate the MS and the MS has not been provisioned, the BS connects the MS to an operator station through a PSTN(515). The operator station collects required subscriber billing information and transmits a provisioning enable command to the BS(520). The BS receives provisioning set data as an inverse traffic channel data burst message(525). The BS receives provisioning data from a provisioning server as an IP data packet(530).
