METHOD FOR SELECTING BASE STATION CONTROLLER FOR TRANSMITTING PACKET DATA IN BASE STATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for selecting a BSC(Base Station Controller) for transmitting packet data in a base station system is provided to stably provide a service to subscribers by selecting a BSC with the smallest traffic load to transmit packet data. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether a BSC selector transmits a state request message to BSCs(401). The BSC selector transmits a state request message to BSCs(403). It is checked whether a BSC snooper receives state request response messages from the BSCs(404). If the BSC snooper receives the state request response messages, it stores them(405). The BSC selector reads traffic load information stored in the BSC snooper and compares it with a pre-set threshold value(406). If the traffic load is greater than the threshold value, the BSC selector reads stored traffic load information of BSCs from the BSC snooper, compares traffic load information of each BSC, and then, selects a BSC with the smallest traffic load(408). The BSC selector transmits packet data to the selected BSC(409).
