MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS EXPLORER FOR TV SET AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A multimedia contents explorer for a TV set and a method thereof are provided to maximize the user's convenience for searching/playing a multimedia file by equipping the TV set with an exclusive multimedia contents explorer. CONSTITUTION: A contents explorer(100) finds out the multimedia contents files stored in all storing media in the TV set. A sort judger(110) classifies the multimedia contents files found by the contents explorer into each sort. A contents information database(120) stores the files classified into each sort in the contents sort judger by each sort. The contents explorer checks the multimedia contents file by using an extension of the multimedia contents file stored in the storing media.
