METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DISPLAY OF EXISTENCE OF EXTENDED TEXT TABLE INFORMATION IN ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE PICTURE FOR DIGITAL TV

PURPOSE: A method for controlling display of existence of ETT(Extended Text Table) information in an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) picture for a digital TV is provided to allow a viewer to easily confirm whether the ETT is included in EPG. CONSTITUTION: A received packet is searched to detect whether an ETT packet exists(201,202). When the ETT packet exists, a program including the ETT packet is confirmed(203). Information about the existence of the ETT packet is given to the program including the ETT packet(204). When an EPG-ON command is requested after the information about the existence of the ETT packet is given, EPG execution is controlled such that an EPG picture on which the information about the existence of the ETT packet is indicated is displayed(205).
