METHOD FOR REDUCING RADIOACTIVE WASTE MATERIALS GENERATED AFTER DECONTAMINATION OF RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATED SOIL

PURPOSE: A method is provided to reduce radioactive waste materials by treating the waste solution generated after decontamination of radioactive contaminated soil, through the use of ion exchange resin. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of treating the radioactive contaminated soil by using a decontaminating agent; and a second step of treating the waste solution generated after decontamination by using an ion exchange resin. The ion exchange resin contains the decontaminating agent used in the first step. The decontaminating agent is selected from the group consisting of EDTA, DTPA, NTA, citric acid, oxalic acid, formic acid, and acetic acid.
