SINGLE ACTUATOR LOST MOTION SHIFT ASSEMBLY IN TRANSFER CASE FOR CONTROLLING MODULATING CLUTCH AND SECOND SPEED GEAR DECELERATION ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE: A lost motion shift assembly with a single actuator is provided to reduce power consumption and the size of the actuator by sequentially controlling engagement and disengagement of the clutch and selection of the speed range. CONSTITUTION: A twin clutch controller assembly is composed of a first clutch(110) selectively engaging a couple of driving members with a first driven member(122), a second clutch(150) for modulating engagement between the first driven member and the second driven member, a shift rail(204) having a cam follower(234A) and rotating, a driver(202) rotating the shift rail, a shift fork(230) translating the first clutch, cam actuators generating compressive force to the second clutch, and assemblies driven by the shift rail to operate the cam actuator in placing the cam follower at the static region and to release the actuator in placing the cam follower at the helical region.
