FLUID-JET PEN FOR PREPARING BIOACTIVE AGENT-CONTAINING EMULSION BY JETTING BIOACTIVE AGENT AND RELEASING AGENT FROM FLUID-JET PEN INTO SECOND FLUID MEDIUM HAVING EFFECT OF ALLOWING ON-SITE PRODUCTION IF NEEDED AND USING SMALL AMOUNT OF SURFACTANTS, THEREBY REDUCING SIDE EFFECTS RELATED WITH SURFACTANTS AND INCREASING BIOAVAILABILITY

PURPOSE: A fluid-jet pen for preparing a bioactive agent-containing emulsion for delivery to a biological system by jetting a bioactive agent and a releasing agent from the fluid-jet pen into a second fluid medium is provided. It allows on-site production if needed, minimizes requirements for long shelf life, uses a small amount of surfactants, thereby reducing side effects related with surfactants, increasing bioavailability and reducing toxicity. CONSTITUTION: With a fluid-jet pen, a bioactive agent-containing emulsion is prepared by the step of jetting (a) a bioactive agent and (b) a releasing agent from a fluid-jet pen into a second fluid medium, wherein the fluid-jet pen is disposed to jet the bioactive agent and releasing agent, thereby associating the bioactive agent and releasing agent. The releasing agent is a first fluid medium, the bioactive agent and releasing agent are jetted to form the bioactive agent-containing emulsion, the second fluid comprises a continuous phase of the emulsion. A microemulsion containing a surfactant in which 0.1 to 10% by weight of the emulsion is present is prepared with the fluid-jet pen. A bioactive agent release system contains packaging a fluid-jet pen containing the bioactive agent and releasing agent in a sterilized environment and providing sterilized associates.
