ICON DISPLAY IMAGE RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE AND A DISPLAY METHOD THEREOF, CONCERNED WITH ENABLING TO EASILY RECOGNIZE A KIND OF A CURRENTLY STORED FILE

摘要

PURPOSE: An icon display image recording/reproducing device and a displaying method thereof are provided to guide lists of files by using icons without displaying programs recorded in a memory device as files only, so that a user can easily recognize a kind of a currently stored file. CONSTITUTION: A main controller reads information on files recorded on an HDD(S510), and confirms extensions among the related information by file(S520). If the files cannot be displayed, the main controller does not display the files on a display device(S521). The main controller confirms whether each of the files can be decoded(S530). If so, the main controller reads icons predetermined in stream type from a flash memory, and displays the read icons(S531). If the files cannot be decoded, the main controller displays the icons in icon display parts of the corresponding files(S532).
