PURPOSE: A device for transmitting an image by using a CDMA communication network and a method therefor are provided to extract wireless terminal information of a user from a camera transmit request signal, and to configure camera image data in small-unit packets, then to restore the data in a receiving side, thereby reducing a transmission error of the data. CONSTITUTION: An image input portion(100) inputs an image signal. An image converter(110) converts an output image of the image input portion(100) into a type receivable from a wireless terminal(210). A wireless data transceiver(150) receives a user's image request signal, reconfigures an output signal of the image converter(110) in small-unit packets, and transmits the reconfigured signal to the user's terminal. The image converter(110) comprises as follows. An image signal converter(111) converts an analog signal into a digital signal. An image compressor(112) converts the converted image, and compresses size of a file. A protocol converter(113) prepares the file including image data according to a type of a protocol supported by the wireless terminal(210).
