PURPOSE: A non-blocking method in a distributed transaction system is provided to reduce the number of messages among distributed systems when a distributed transaction is processed so that it offers efficiently non-stop service. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. It is checked whether a failure site exists in a distributed database management system before a two phase non-blocking commit protocol is reflected on a database via a communication among a coordinator and participants(101-106, 111). The coordinator records a preparation message in a log and transmits a process preparation message to each participant(107-110). Each participant reflects the process preparation message on each database of its own(112-116). After the failure site is recovered, it is recorded in a log.
