PURPOSE: A method for using a ringback tone by converting into a busy background sound is provided to update a ringback tone service supplied from a mobile terminal and a wired terminal network, thereby supplying various ringback tones and background sounds to an originating subscriber. CONSTITUTION: An originating MSC(20a) transmits an origination request invoke message(S30). An originating HLR(40a) transmits an origination request return result signal(S31). A background sound server delivers a ringback tone sound source to the originating MSC(20a)(S32). A background sound IP attempts a call setup to an adjacent exchange(110)(S33). The adjacent exchange(110) transmits a location request message to a receiving HLR(40b)(S34). The receiving HLR(40b) transmits a routing request message(S35). A receiving MSC(20b) transmits a routing request return result message(S36). The receiving HLR(40b) transmits a location request return result signal to the adjacent exchange(110)(S37). The adjacent exchange(110) sets an ISUP transit call speech path(S38). The background IP converts the sound source into a background sound, and continuously delivers the background sound(S39).
