PURPOSE: A universal joint with friction fit and a bearing cup retainer are provided to retain bearing cup assemblies on trunnions by using a yoke, a cruciform, and a thrust washer. CONSTITUTION: A universal joint(10) includes a yoke(16), a cruciform(20), and a thrust washer. The yoke(16) includes a leg having an aperture penetrating the inner part of the yoke(16). The cruciform(20) has a cylindrical part. The cylindrical part includes a trunnion(44) and a lubricant passage. The trunnion(44) is a cylindrical shape. The lubricant passage penetrates an end face and the trunnion(44). The thrust washer includes a disk segment and a frog protruding from the disk segment. The disk segment is adjacent to the end face of the trunnion(44).
