PURPOSE: A method for calculating a Doppler frequency of a wireless communication system is provided to supply an available Doppler frequency calculation for all Doppler frequencies, to remove a bias caused while calculating the Doppler frequencies when a mobile station stops or is in low speed state, thereby reliably calculating the Doppler frequencies. CONSTITUTION: A pilot signal received from a base station is inputted in x(t) and y(t) type(S11), wherein the x(t) is an I(In-phase) component and the y(t) is a Q(Quadrature-phase) component. The inputted pilot signal is operated with a square value e(t) of an amplitude(S13). Through the square value e(t) of the amplitude, an average square value is calculated(S15) while a determined statistical value of the e(t) is calculated(S17). The average square value is substituted to an equation, to calculate a Doppler frequency(S20).
