PURPOSE: An apparatus for drag control of a bait casting reel is provided to control the rotary force of a spool more effectively by improving the structure for controlling the spool rotation of the bait casting reel and increase the working efficiency upon an assembling process by simplifying the structure. CONSTITUTION: A bait casting reel is formed of a frame(2) and a pair of covers(3) and is provided with spools and take-up guides. The apparatus(10) for drag control comprises: a rotary shaft(20) whose one end is rotatably coupled to the frame(2) and which has a handle(7) attached to the other end; a main driving gear(46) fixed to one end of the rotary shaft(20) and rotating the spools and the take-up guides; a drag control portion(10a) prepared at the other end of the main driving gear(46) and restricting the rotation of the rotary shaft(20); and a drag knob(30) prepared inside the handle(7) so as to be rotatable with respect to the rotary shaft(20) and being vertically moved by rotation and applying a pressure to the drag control portion.
