PURPOSE: A submerged membrane system for advanced sewage and wastewater treatment is provided to prevent miscellaneous materials in the system from being concentrated and increase treatment efficiency of sewage and wastewater in the system by changing structure of the submerged membrane system. CONSTITUTION: In a submerged membrane system comprising a grit chamber(10), a screen tank(20), flow equalization tank(30), micro-filtration screen(40), treated water tank(70) and sludge thickening tank(80) to filter and treat sewage and wastewater, the submerged membrane system comprises an anaerobic tank(100) which is installed at the outer side of the micro-filtration screen so that raw water supplied from the micro-filtration screen is flown in the anaerobic tank, and which removes contaminants contained in a mixed solution mixed with the raw water and releases phosphorus; a membrane separation aerobic tank(60) comprising a membrane unit(61) installed at an outer side of the anaerobic tank and equipped with a plural membranes for removing contaminants and phosphorus contained in the mixed solution as well as suspended solids; an anoxic tank(110) installed at an outer side of the membrane separation aerobic tank to remove nitrogen and oxygen by separating nitrogen and oxygen from nitrate-nitrogen contained in the mixed solution by denitrification reaction and return the mixed solution to the micro-filtration screen through the return pump and the return line; a distribution line(120) connected to the micro-filtration screen to flow raw water in the anaerobic tank and the anoxic tank from the micro-filtration screen; and a return line(130) connected to return pump in the anoxic tank to return the mixed solution in the anoxic tank to the micro-filtration screen.
