PURPOSE: A weft bar preventing method and a device of a weaving machine are provided, thereby regulating a position before weaving and value of warp tension precisely. CONSTITUTION: A weft bar preventing method of a weaving machine comprises the steps of: (correcting operation of a position before weaving) rotating a clothes winding roll(28) to shift the position before weaving to a proper position; and (warp tension regulating operation) rotating a delivery beam to regulate warp tension to proper value. A weft bar preventing device comprises: a correcting device of the position before weaving rotating the clothes winding roll(28) to shift the position before weaving to the proper position; a warp tension regulating device rotating the delivery beam to regulate the warp tension to the proper value; and a main control device beginning common operation of the weaving machine after work preparing operation of the correcting device of the position before weaving and the warp tension regulating device.
