PURPOSE: A functional food composition containing an herbal extract of pine needle, mulberry leaves, Acanthopanax sessiliflorus and Radix Rehmanniae Preparata is provided. It is eliminated in the astringent taste without deterioration of eating quality and has various functionalities. CONSTITUTION: The functional food composition contains 0.5 to 5% by weight of a water extract of pine needle, 1 to 10% by weight of a water extract of mulberry leaves, 0.1 to 5% by weight of a water extract of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus and a solvent extract of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata and other additives. The solvent is an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of ethyl alcohol, petroleum ether, chloroform and methyl alcohol. The functional food contains naengmyeon(buckwheat noodles in a cold broth), ramyeon, noodles, a clear soup with wheat flakes in it(sujaebi), knife noodles, wheat vermicelli, rice products or beverages.
