PURPOSE: A method for requesting a call termination of a mobile communication terminal is provided to automatically terminate a call if transceiving data does not exist for a certain time after the call is successfully connected, thereby preventing unnecessary telephone charges. CONSTITUTION: When a call is connected, a controller drives a vocoder. The vocoder checks whether transceiving data exists. If not, the controller actuates a timer to check whether a certain time elapses, and confirms whether the transceiving data is detected. If so, the controller stops the timer while clearing a measuring time. If the certain time elapses after actuating the timer without the transceiving data being detected, the controller controls an RF unit to request a base station to terminate the call. The base station cancels the connected call.
