INTEGRATED LANCE AND STRIP FOR ANALYZING SPECIMEN TO DRAW BODY FLUID OUT OF PATIENTS

PURPOSE: An integrated lancing device where the lancing element is a flat or partially curved is provided to draw a body fluid out of a patient by using a surface tension of the body fluid. CONSTITUTION: A lance includes a lancing element(22) having a first sharp end point(38), a separation element(24) having a second end point(40), and a connector(21) connecting a portion in a proximity from the lancing element to a portion in a proximity from the separation element to form a channel. The second end point of the lance is positioned in a proximity to the first sharp end point. The separation element is positioned to have an angle with respect to the lancing element. The lancing element, the separation element and the channel are made of a single sheet of metal.
