PURPOSE: An apparatus and method of fabricating a lead frame using press-molding are provided to prevent the spring-back and deformation of the lead frame by using a bottom concavity of a die and an improved front end of a punch. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(X) includes a die and a punch. The die(2) includes a fabricating face(4) composed of a flat surface(4a) for loading a lead frame(W), a bottom surface(4c) of a concavity(2a), and an inclined surface(4b) between the flat surface and the bottom surface of the concavity. The punch(6) has a punching surface with the same shape as the fabricating face except a gap(6a). Owing to the gap, the punch obtains front ends(8c). The die further includes a bottom concavity(2b) under the concavity. Each front end is prolonged to a lateral direction over the bottom concavity as much as a predetermined length.
