PURPOSE: A VoIP gateway device is provided to directly connect an extension line to each gateway card, and to process inner calls between the gateway cards while processing calls with an external network through a proxy card, thereby supplying a high-capacity gateway device without interworking with a PBX. CONSTITUTION: More than one gateway card(320) has ports accessible to house phones, selectively connects the house phones to an accessible Ethernet network or PSTN to form a voice call channel. A proxy card(310) searches ID information of a receiving gateway card to be connected from information on a callee which is transmitted from an originating gateway card, mediates a call connection between the originating gateway card and the receiving gateway card, converts a private IP of an inner gateway card into a real IP to form a voice call channel between an outer IP network and the inner gateway card, and performs packet transmission with the outer IP network.
