PURPOSE: A water quality sensor is provided to prevent a wrong assembly of a housing and a cover by mounting the cover to the housing only in the direction that a positioning projection is inserted in a positioning groove. CONSTITUTION: A water quality sensor is composed of a housing(52) installed in a tub of a washing machine; a pair of conductivity electrodes mounted in the housing to sense the conductivity of water; a temperature electrode disposed in the housing to detect the temperature of the water; a cover(56) combined with the housing and formed with terminals(54a) positioned at the lower ends of the conductivity electrode and the temperature electrode; and a positioning groove(76) and a positioning projection(78) arranged at the housing and the cover, respectively, to prevent a wrong assembly of the housing and the cover.
