PURPOSE: A recording information evaluating method and a device, and an information recording medium thereof are provided to decide a value of a standard deviation and a period of a symbol clock of phase modulation by using the standard deviation of jitter distributions obtained from an output of a low pass filter and the period of the symbol clock, thereby evaluating reliability on recorded physical address information. CONSTITUTION: A wobble signal influenced by a groove wobble is optically obtained from an optical disk where physical address information is recorded by phase modulation of the groove wobble. The wobble signal is phase-detected by a phase detector(32), and is provided to a low pass filter(34). A jitter calculator(51) calculates a value of a standard deviation of jitter distributions and a period of a symbol clock of the phase modulation, and evaluates the recorded physical address information with the calculated value.
