PURPOSE: A sample holder for an automatic analyzer, an automatic analyzer containing the sample holder and a method for spraying or sucking liquid in or on sample are provided, to obtain a desktop type analyzer capable of carrying out various analysis in a small space. CONSTITUTION: The sample holder comprises a main body part which holds at least one sample; and a guide(8) which accommodates a probe and locates it to the desired position with sample. Preferably the sample holder comprises further a cover(9) located on at least some part of the main body part and sample; and the guide is provided with at least one opening part formed on the cover. Preferably the probe is fixed, and at least one opening part is arranged to the different direction from other opening parts. The automatic analyzer comprises a movable fluid source(2); the sample holder; and a probe.
