STRUCTURE FOR PROTECTING KNEES OF DRIVER TO PREVENT LOWER BODY OF DRIVER FROM BEING PUSHED UNDER INSTRUMENT PANEL

PURPOSE: A structure for protecting the knees of a driver is provided to reduce an injury to the knees of the driver in a head-on collision. CONSTITUTION: A structure for protecting the knees of a driver is composed of a first mounting bracket(110) having a first mounting portion(111) in the center, a second mounting bracket(120) having a shape symmetrical to the first mounting bracket, and a protection member(130). Both ends of the first mounting bracket are fixed to one side of a tie bar(200) installed in an instrument panel and a side bracket(300), respectively. Both ends of the second mounting bracket are fixed to the other side of the tie bar and an audio bracket(400), respectively. A second mounting portion(121) is formed at the protruding center of the second mounting bracket. Both sides of the protection member are fixed to the first and second mounting portions, respectively. The protection member is disposed in front of the knees of the driver, and prevents the knees of the driver from being pushed under the instrument panel in a head-on collision.
