PURPOSE: Provided is a method for separating and concentrating eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA), which yields both unsaturated fatty acids with high purity, and has economical advantages resulting from recycle of ion exchange resins. CONSTITUTION: The method for separating and concentrating EPA and DHA by using a silver ion exchange resin comprises the steps of: dissolving a silver(Ag) compound into aqueous ethanol solution to form aqueous silver chloride solution; mixing the resultant solution with a cation exchange resin, filtering the mixture, washing the resultant resin with ethanol, and removing the solvent in a vacuum evaporator to obtain a silver ion exchange resin; passing a solution containing higher unsaturated fatty acids to the silver ion exchange column; and passing hexane solution to the silver ion exchange resin to separate EPA and DHA adsorbed to the resin.
