METHOD FOR INSTALLING A GIFT CERTIFICATE BY USING A MOBILE TERMINAL, CONCERNED WITH SOLVING PROBLEMS OF STORAGE, LOSS AND DAMAGE OF A GIFT CERTIFICATE

PURPOSE: A method for installing a gift certificate by using a mobile terminal is provided to solve problems of storage, loss and damage of a gift certificate by mounting the gift certificate in an ICC(Integrated Circuit Chip) of a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: When information on a gift certificate to be mounted in an ICC is inputted through a mobile terminal(400), a control module of the mobile terminal forms a channel with a server and provides the information on the gift certificate to the server to request authentication of the gift certificate so as to be mounted in the ICC(410). The server determines whether the gift certificate is valid(415). If the gift certificate is valid(435), the server transmits an ICC mounting available message through the channel formed between the mobile terminal and the server(440). The server checks whether the mobile terminal includes gift certificate storage information(445). If the mobile terminal includes the gift certificate storage information in the ICC(450), the server transmits gift certificate-related information to the mobile terminal through the formed data channel(455). When the mobile terminal receives the gift certificate storage information, a gift certificate mounting application program of the mobile terminal mounts the gift certificate storage information in the ICC through a chip control module(470) and transmits mounting completion information to the server(475), whereby the process for the ICC mounting is performed and the data channel formed between the mobile terminal and the server is terminated(480).
