HOME PAD CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING A REMOTE MONITORING AND AN OPERATING METHOD THEREOF, CONCERNED WITH REDUCING A COST WHILE CONSTRUCTING A HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A home pad capable of supporting a remote monitoring function and an operating method thereof are provided to store home images by an embedded pickup unit without an additional equipment, and to remotely monitor the home images by accessing outside. CONSTITUTION: A pickup unit(1) photographs home images according to a video photographing control signal. An encoder(2) converts a photographed analog video signal into a digital video signal, compresses the digital video signal to store in a memory(3), and outputs the converted digital video signal according to an output control signal. A data communicator(4) supports a connection through a network by an authenticated user, and transmits the digital video signal to an outer computer through the network. A controller(5) supplies the video photographing control signal, authenticates the user of the outer computer when an access request signal is received, and supplies the output control signal to the encoder(2). The controller(5) supplies a transmission control signal to the data communicator(4) to transmit the digital video signal to the outer computer.
