PURPOSE: A radiation computed tomography apparatus and a tomographic image producing method are provided to achieve improved quality of tomographic image at a predefined image forming position in an axial direction of an object in a tomographic image reconstruction by an axial scanning. CONSTITUTION: A radiation computed tomography apparatus(1) comprises a radiation detecting unit for performing a plurality of scanning operations for detecting radiation passing through an examination region around a predefined axis of the examination region at different positions along the predefined axis direction; and an image reconstructing unit for acquiring a plurality of data at the same position in the examination region, on the basis of detected data acquired in each of the scanning operations, and reconstructing data for a single tomographic image in the examination region at an image forming position in the predefined axis direction, on the basis of plural data.
