PURPOSE: A hydraulic vibration-proof unit making use of a magnetic fluid is provided to actively cope with disturbance given to a mechanical structure or electronic equipment. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic vibration-proof unit(100) making use of a magnetic fluid comprises a housing(101) filled with the magnetic fluid; a piston(102) dividing the housing into first and second chambers(111,113); at least one orifice bore(121) connecting the first chamber and the second chamber through the piston; a coil(123) wound around the orifice bore inside the piston; a piston rod(127) extended from one end of the piston in the longitudinal direction and projected to one end of the housing; and a power supply/control unit applying power to the coil. The piston is received movably in the longitudinal direction in the housing.
