PURPOSE: A safety device of a brake pedal for a vehicle is provided to improve safety of the vehicle by minimizing or preventing injury in driver's ankles or shins by the brake pedal in a vehicle collision accident. CONSTITUTION: A safety device of a brake pedal(90) for a vehicle comprises a bumper-hydraulic cylinder(30) installed to a bumper of the vehicle, to produce hydraulic pressure in a vehicle collision; an operating hydraulic cylinder(40) to which hydraulic pressure produced from the bumper-hydraulic cylinder is transmitted; a connection member(50) connecting the operating hydraulic cylinder and the brake pedal to pull the brake pedal toward the front side of the vehicle if hydraulic pressure is transmitted to the operating hydraulic cylinder; an operating member(60) reciprocated according to the movement of the connection member; a power transmission unit(70) installed between the connection member and the operating member, to make the movement of the connection member transmitted to the operating member; and a pressure release valve(80) installed to a side of a master cylinder(94) installed to convert the stepping force of the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure. The operating hydraulic cylinder is connected to the bumper-hydraulic cylinder by hydraulic pipes(50a,50b). The pressure release valve is selectively opened and shut by the reciprocating movement of the operating member, to control the hydraulic pressure of the master cylinder.
