SYSTEM FOR INVESTIGATION OF RIVER BOTTOM TOPOGRAPHY AND FLUCTUATION USING GPS AND GPR(GROUND PENETRATING RADAR)

PURPOSE: A system for investigation of river bottom topography and fluctuation using GPS and GPR(ground penetrating radar) is provided to perform an accurate investigation process without an error by storing and utilizing the information obtained from the GPS and the GPR. CONSTITUTION: An aquatic moving unit(10) is moved on surface of water. A GPR(20) is installed on the aquatic moving unit and includes a control unit and a transmitting/receiving radar. A GPS(30) is installed on the aquatic moving unit to calculate position information. An information processing unit(40) exchanges data between the GPR and the GPS. The information processing unit includes a data storage part for storing topographical information and position information, a map storage part for storing an electronic map, a topographical map generator for generating a river bottom topography map, and an output unit for outputting the river bottom topography map.
