PURPOSE: A method for reserving a new CoA(Care of Address) for quick handover in a mobile IPv6 is provided to reduce time required for generation of CoA and quickly perform handoff by reserving a new CoA in a new network in advance before an MN(Mobile Node) is moved to the new network. CONSTITUTION: An MN transmits a CoA reservation request(CR-sol) message including a link layer address of the MN to a currently linked router(S200). The currently linked router transmits a CoA reservation request(CR-Req) including the link layer address and a current CoA of the MN to an adjacent router(S205). The adjacent router generates a new CoA and performs a DAD(Destination node Address) in the corresponding network(S210). If a new CoA is constructed(S215), the adjacent router stores PCoA or NCoA of the MN as a list in its proxy table and starts proxy for the NCoA(S220).
