PURPOSE: A winch for an underwater fish-gathering light and a control method therefor are provided to automatically wind or release a cable connected to the underwater light under control of the user, enabling effective fish-gathering operation. CONSTITUTION: The underwater light winch comprises a driving pulley(110) for winding or releasing a cable connected to the light; an auxiliary pulley(120) for allowing the cable to come into close contact with the driving pulley; a driving shaft for transmitting driving power to the driving pulley; a drive motor for driving the driving shaft; and a winch control unit for controlling the rotation of the drive motor.
