PURPOSE: A system and a method for the VAN(Value Added Network) services using an RF(Radio Frequency) card are provided to enable a user to reduce inconvenience for holding several cards and enable a service provider to save an expense for issuing a new card by performing a VAN service system using a VAN service list formed with a chip serial number. CONSTITUTION: The RF card(10) is equipped with an RF chip for the RF communication. An RF terminal(20) comprises an RF interface(22) exchanging data with the RF card, a server I/O part(28) exchanging the data with a central server, a security module(24) accessing a charged or used price storage of a transportation card, a memory(26) storing the VAN service list formed with the chip serial number of the RF card, and a controller(25). The controller confirms that the chip serial number received from the RF card is present in the VAN service list, and performs the selected service if the chip serial number is present. A settlement server(30) receives VAN service particulars from the RF terminal, settles a charge for the VAN service particulars with a banking institution, a card company, and a service provider.
