Surface-treated metal wires used to manufacture reinforced spheres for products made of elastomeric materials, and methods of making them

Reinforcing spheres for products made of tires or other elastomeric materials are produced using metal wires having steel cores with a zinc / manganese alloy coating layer having a manganese content of between 5% and 80%. Several examples of methods of electrodepositing zinc / manganese alloys to produce coatings on steel cores are also described.
