PURPOSE: Provided is a beta-cyclodextrin derivative useful for the separation of rotationally hindered isomers of polybiphenyl chloride under excellent optical selectivity. CONSTITUTION: The beta-cyclodextrin derivative is 6-allyldimethylsilyl-2,3-diethyl- beta-cyclodextrin represented by formula 1 useful for the separation of rotationally hindered isomers as a stationary phase. Particularly, the compound of formula 1 is used in a Gas Chromatography for separating rotationally hindered isomers of polybiphenyl chloride as a stationary phase.
