PURPOSE: A method for collecting a traffic information including a queue length using a probe car is provided, which has a low processing load in a traffic control center, by transmitting information regarding to traffic condition of a road to the traffic information control center, and to reduce a transmission bandwidth sharply needed in collecting and processing the information of the traffic condition, and to reduce a communication cost in transmitting a collected traffic information including a queue length information collected in the probe car to the traffic control center. CONSTITUTION: A system performing the method includes a traffic information collection apparatus(110) can be installed in a probe car to collect traffic information, and a traffic information control center(130) and a traffic control system(150). The traffic information collecting apparatus generates collected traffic information(CTI) by collecting, analyzing and processing traffic information related data related to a road where a vehicle travels and the vehicle. The collected traffic information is transmitted to the traffic information control center through a network(120). The network can be a PCS network, a cellular network, a digital data communication network, an internet and a TRS network. A queue length is calculated in the traffic information control center, and the collected traffic information(CTI) including the queue length or a queue occupation rate is transmitted to the traffic control system through a network(140). Here, the network can be a PCS network, a cellular network, a digital data communication network, an internet and a TRS network.
