Method of Controlling Operation of a Large Scale Ice-making Machine of Vertical Type

PURPOSE: A method for controlling operations of a vertical-type large ice machine is provided to efficiently and quickly produce a number of small cakes of ice. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling operations of a vertical-type large ice machine is composed of steps of supplying water for pre-set drain time by checking a deicing mode set from a switch control unit and successively driving a drain valve, a pump motor, a solenoid valve at regular time intervals(S1,S2): stopping driving the drain valve and the pump motor after the drain time and quickly forming ice on an ice plate in deicing by continuously driving the solenoid valve for the pre-set delay time of the solenoid valve(S3); driving a compressor after the delay time of the solenoid valve and performing a deicing operation by driving the pump motor after delaying the pump motor for the pre-set delay time of the pump motor(S5); checking an ice formation by detecting the continuous short signal of an ice detecting sensor for a predetermined time during a deicing, stopping driving the pump motor for a while, and performing a hot gas operation by gradually driving the drain valve, the pump motor, and the solenoid valve at regular time intervals(S6,S8); stopping driving the drain valve and the pump motor after checking the output of ice by detecting an instantaneous open signal of an ice output detecting sensor during the hot gas operation, continuously driving the solenoid valve during the delay time of the solenoid valve, and then performing the deicing operation again(S9).
