PURPOSE: Provided are 3-(5-(methoxy-ethyl)-3,6-dioxo-piperazine-2-yl)-propionic acid of the formula(1) extracted and purified from the J300 Cordyceps militaris, and a pharmaceutical composition having anti-HIV activity, an agent for treating AIDS and a supplementary food containing the same. CONSTITUTION: The 3-(5-(methoxy-ethyl)-3,6-dioxo-piperazine-2-yl)-propionic acid of the formula(1) is manufactured by the steps of: extracting Cordyceps militaris powders with water; performing HPLC with the extract using distilled water; isolating the distilled water fraction by HPLC using methanol; and isolating the methanol fraction by activated carbon chromatography to obtain J300 Cordyceps militaris water extract Dong1-2-4 having anti-HIV activity.
