PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling the level difference of an electro-plating roll are provided to adjust the level difference of the conductor part and the rubber covering part of the surface of a conductor roll by changing the temperature of cooling water of the roll according to the operating conditions using a numerical formula model in an electro-plating facility using a cylindrical electro-plating conductor roll. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for controlling the level difference of an electro-plating roll in the cooling system of a cylindrical electro-plating roll in which the center part of the electro-plating roll consists of a metallic part made of a metallic conductor and a rubber covered ring surrounding the metallic part, the apparatus comprises a control model operating an initial level difference of the metallic part and the rubber covered part by the already set numerical formula model during processing of the electro-plating roll, and varying a temperature of cooling water cooling the electro-plating roll so that a pressure difference between the level differences is maintained within the already set range by calculating a pressure difference between the level differences of the electro-plating roll with the already set numerical formula model after the electro-plating roll that is processed to the operated initial level difference is applied to the cooling system.
