The present invention provides a method for producing a solid fertilizer for growing plants, particularly, by grinding zeolite for grains of given sizes, putting them in a solution of fertilizing constituents to have these constituents adsorbed by the zeolite grains, mixing the zeolite grains which have adsorbed fertilizing constituents on one hand and bentonite grains of certain sizes on the other, and finally compressing the mix-ture into solid fertilizer cakes. The present invention also provides chips of certain sizes of the solid fertilizer thus produced, along with a plant-growing vessel which contains in it such chips of the solid fertilizer.
