Cascade Impactor for Measuring Droplet Size Distribution

PURPOSE: A cascade impactor is provided to precisely measure a mass distribution by using a liquid droplet collector, which has a role of a final filter. CONSTITUTION: A cascade impactor includes a main body, impingers(7,8), flow-rate adjusting devices(9,11,12), a vacuum pump(10) and an impactor supporter(13). The main body has inlets, a plurality of stages having a nozzle(3) and a collision substrate(4), a final filter(5) and an outlet(6). The inlets include an inlet nozzle pipe(1) and an inlet collision substrate(2) installed adjacent to the inlet nozzle pipe(1) in order to introduce a liquid droplet into the cascade impactor. The impingers(7,8) are used for collecting fine liquid droplet passing through a final terminal of the impactor. The impingers(7,8) are connected to the outlet(6) without using the final filter(5).
